International Plowing Match Brings Rural Heritage to Bruce County

Fall is harvest season, and this year Bruce County is celebrating the tradition in a big way. The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo returns September 22–26, marking its 50th anniversary. It's one of the biggest agricultural events in the region, drawing farmers, families, and folks curious about rural life from across Ontario and beyond. If you've never been, it's a chance to see working horses and equipment, meet the people who feed us, and watch plowing competitions that go back generations. There's usually farm food, crafts, and lots of kids' activities too. Saugeen Shores sits right in Bruce County, so this year's match is practically on our doorstep.
