Community Comes Together for Special Olympics Storage Shed

When a community pulls together, good things happen—and that's exactly what unfolded for the Port Elgin United Church-supported Special Olympics group. Local organizations in Saugeen Shores came together and raised $14,000 to build a brand-new storage shed for the athletes. It's the kind of practical gift that makes a real difference: a safe, dry place to keep equipment and supplies as the group gears up for Special Winter Olympics. Special Olympics gives our young athletes a chance to compete, build friendships, and show what they can do. And with community support like this, they've got the foundation—quite literally—to keep growing. If you see the athletes around town, give them a wave. They're training hard, and they've got Port Elgin behind them.
